3 Embryos Transferred!!!

Well, yesterday was the day! The doctor successfully transferred 3 healthy embryos into Kyla!!!! We had a total of 8 embryos that were high enough grade to work with, so we are fortunate enough to be able to freeze the remaining 5 embryos for future use. The doctor initially wanted to transfer back 4 of the healthiest embryos and asked the question if we would want to “reduce” that number if all 4 implanted. We feel strongly that this is not an option for us, so the decision was made to put back only the 3.

We are so excited, nervous and anxious all at the same time. It’s hard to believe that Kyla is technically pregnant right now with our future children. I say technically pregnant, because we won’t know for sure until our 2 week appointment if 1 or more of the embryos successfully implanted.

The picture here is of my beautiful wife/Mom-to-be Kyla and the original 14 embyros, just moments after the transfer. We were told the the one at the top left was the highest grade, since it had multiplied so much. Who knows…maybe this will turn out to be the one?

Kyla is doing really well. The transfer was a bit painful for her, but she handled it wonderfully. She is now in the midst of her mandatory 72 hour bed rest and is resting in bed. We have plenty of movies and books stocked up for, so hopefully the time will go by quickly.

We are fortunate to have my parents move in with us for the next few days to help me out with different things and also to lend a hand to Kyla. Kyla’s Mom and Chuck stopped by last night as well, which we were also very excited and fortunate for.

Please continue to pray for us and especially for those 3 little embryos. We are hopeful that at least one will implant!

Well, today is possibly the big day! We have our appointment this morning at 11:30 to transfer our little embryos into Kyla. We are not 100% sure if they will do it today or postpone it until Sunday, that’s why I say it’s possibly our big day.

Both Kyla and I are really nervous and anxious as we are getting ready for our appointment this morning. It’s hard to believe that by this afternoon, Kyla could be carrying our future baby or babies.

Please keep us in your prayers today and throughout the next three days. If they transfer the embryos today, Kyla will be on strict bed rest for 72 hours, only getting up to use the bathroom or move out to the couch in the living room.

I’ll update the site with information on how our appointment went later this afternoon.

Thanks again for all of your love, support and prayers.
