I’m 5 Weeks Old Today

5 Weeks Old, originally uploaded by Full Circle Digital.

Today, I turned 5 weeks old! I woke Mommy and Daddy up around 4:00am to celebrate. They weren’t quite in the celebrating mood yet, so I let them sleep for a little bit longer…sort of. Later, my mommy gave me a nice warm bath and put me in this pretty pink dress. I don’t have any socks that fit or matched so I went barefoot all day. Then, I went to the park (my first visit) with my friend Addison from church and her Mommy, Sara. While Addison played on the playground, I slept.

Tonight, Daddy got out his camera and took a bunch of pictures. Mommy thought it would be a good idea to try to take a picture with me and Callaway, but that turned out to not be a very good idea. She said we would have to wait a few more weeks before we can attempt that again!

I’m getting so big - just over 9 pounds now! I’m starting to coo and make lots of different facial expressions. Sometimes, my Daddy and Mommy just stare at me and laugh like crazy.

Tomorrow I’m going to visit my Aunt Jenny and my big cousins, Jeremiah, Josiah and Jocelyn. I can’t wait!

Big slurpy kisses to you all,
Elyana

Our 3rd Anniversary

Our 3rd Anniversary, originally uploaded by Full Circle Digital.

Kyla and I celebrated our 3rd Anniversary on the 19th. I can’t believe it’s been 3 years already and I couldn’t be happier.

I sent Kyla this beautiful bouquet of flowers and she absolutely loved them. There are so many amazing colors in the flowers and they were amazingly fresh.

For our anniversary, we spent our first evening out without Elyana. My parents came over to watch our baby girl while we went to the Garden Walk nearby to walk around and have dinner. We had a really great time and ate some yummy food and cheesecake at The Cheesecake Factory.

Kyla started to get really nervous after we ordered dinner and kept checking her phone and saying, “Do you think I should call and make sure everything is going alright?” I kept trying to reassure her that my folks would call if anything was going wrong. Right after this conversation I checked my email on my phone and my Dad took some pictures with his phone and emailed them over to us. That seemed to put us both at ease. ha ha

I hope everything is going well with all of you. I’m planning on taking a bunch more photos of Elyana that I’ll try to post as soon as I possibly can.

Take care!

4 Weeks Old!

Today, Elyana is 4 weeks old.  I can hardly believe how fast time is going by.  She is changing so much every day: her cheeks and thighs are getting chubbier, she makes eye contact and follows our gaze, she holds her head up for a few seconds, and she even smiles at us.  I know some people will insist that it’s gas and she’s not really smiling.  While I agree that most of the time it is gas, there have been a couple of times where Collin or I are smiling huge smiles at her, and she smiles right back.  It’s the best feeling in the world when your daughter looks at you and smiles.  I can’t wait to hear her giggle for the first time.

We’re still pretty sleep deprived, as Elyana just doesn’t understand why Mommy and Daddy get into  bed each night and turn out the lights.  That should be party time, right?  But, we know that sleep deprivation will only last for a time, and we’re praying that this time will be up soon!

We’ve been able to get out a few times - to restaurants, church and the mall and Elyana sleeps through every outing we go on.  The first few times we went out, I was a nervous wreck.  I would check on her every 2 seconds to make sure she was still breathing!  Now, I only check on her every 5 minutes, so as you can see,  I’m getting way better!

Well, my little munchkin is kindly letting me know that she’s hungry, so duty calls!

Love and hugs to you all,

Kyla

Contemplating Life…

Here’s a quick shot of our little angel, Elyana Isabelle when she was 11 days old.

I’ve been practicing my photography skills on her and I thought this one came out really well. I love the way her hand is resting on her chin. Kinda like she is contemplating life or her next move. Let’s see…what should I do next. Eat? Poop? Sleep? Hmmm…I’ve run out of options.

Enjoy!

I’ll do my best to keep posting photos of our beautiful little girl.
